Anne Marie, affectionately known as Dr. M, enjoys playing drums, trumpet, and piano, as well as composing music and writing. She has authored two books, Whispers from Above and Reflections of the Heart and The Tapestry of My Life. Anne Marie has earned masters' degrees in music education and psychology and thrives on sharing a variety of musical experiences with people of all ages and backgrounds. During her twenty-nine-year tenure as a public-school musical specialist and classroom teacher, Anne Marie earned the title of "Teacher of the Year" in the North Providence School Department. Anne Marie has also served as an adjunct professor in a graduate program in organizational leadership, having earned a Phd. in this field. She is currently serving as a mentor in an executive mentorship program, advising graduate students who are studying organizational leadership. Despite being rather reserved and introverted by nature, Anne Marie's lifelong love for performing music continues to serve as a vibrant means of connecting with others on a deeply meaningful level. Since the early nineties, wherever she goes, Anne Marie has discovered drumming with others to be both therapeutic and cathartic. Anne Marie is thrilled to be a part of the profoundly talented, multi-faceted, and award-winning Providence Drum Troupe!

Thank you for your interest in the Providence Drum Troupe, an interactive group of dynamic musicians, a wide-range of dancers, acrobats, visual artists, puppetry and more from near and far who create funky beats with positive energy, demonstrating that living in harmony with one another is not an antiquated notion.
We have but one rule: “Don’t be annoying.” PDT has a dynamic performance schedule requiring rehearsals and behind the scenes planning. It is play when you are able, no pressure but if you say yes to a gig we only ask that you remain committed to that gig as the ensemble is counting on you. PDT is not an open drum jam but rather, PDT has orchestrated parts, often with choreography for dancers and flow artists. Having said that we also have ample room for improvisation and on occasion we invite prospects to jump in, have fun and see if PDT is a good fit. PDT rehearses weekly on Tuesday’s 6-8 pm sometimes blending into a public performance. Our colors are black and bling with LED lighting which is up to each member to get creative with. Each member provides their own instrument, transportation and gear with the exception of core drum line which is owned by the band. Thank you Motif Magazine for being one of the last print media to support the creative arts scene! And thank YOU for joining PDT in demonstrating that living in harmony with one another is not an antiquated notion! #beststreetband #pdt #motifmagazine #theprovidencedrumtroupe We love our freaky friends and family!
